How far away can I see the GLO-TOOB from?

This is not a simple answer…There are many factors that need to be taken into

account when quantifying the distance at which the GLO-TOOB (infact, all light

sources) can be seen. Since there needs to be abasic answer to this question,

 we’ll supply a basic answer…and then give adetailed answer…

Simple: With the naked eye, in optimal conditions, the GLO-TOOB can be seen

for over 2 miles…

Detailed: Most of the search and rescue situations – what the GLO-TOOB is

ultimately intended for – would be conducted with the assistance of viewing

equipment. This can be as diverse as Night Vision Gear/Goggles, binoculars,

scopes, FLIR systems, infra-red technology, etc, etc…and therefore changes

the potential of the GLO-TOOB… greatly. Many military tests have claimed that

at over 6 miles, they could still see the GLO-TOOB, quite clearly! Then again,

maybe they have ‘super, military spec.’ equipment?! In ‘friendly fire’ situations,

the military personal would clearly see their own troops using IR GLO-TOOBS

with the latest NVG gear available to the military – once again ‘enhancing their

ability to view the GLO-TOOB, IR or not. Environmental conditions also play

a huge part in the distance rating of the Glo-toob, (once again, with any light source)

as fog conditions, high ambient light intensities, rain, rough seas, cloud cover, etc,

all reduce the visibility of the GLO-TOOB/ light source, (then again, it would reduce

the visibility of all things, light source, or not) whilst, clear conditions on a dark

night – no moon light, or little moon light, and no ambient light, would provide optimal

conditions for a light source to penetrate the greatest distance through the dark.

Bottom Line: The visual distance that the GLO-TOOB can be seen from, depends on

the equipment you’re using, naked eye or super-duper-military-see-anything-anywhere

scope, and the conditions of the environment.
